About us
Founded in 2020 in response to a spate of overdoses in the music community in Asheville, NC, Musicians for Overdose Prevention has since grown to distribute naloxone to musicians and venues in 43 States. We hope to hit fifty states this year.
Musicians for Overdose Prevention (MOP) is run by John and Cinnamon Kennedy of Black Mountain, NC, with the support of a board that includes harm reduction activists, doctors, and lawyers, all of whom are also musicians. We would like to thank our past and current funders, including Open Society Foundations, The Dogwood Foundation, Hope in the Hills, Vital Strategies Foundation, and interested people like you.

Musicians for Overdose Prevention is run from land of the S’atsoyaha, Tsalaguwetiyi, and Catawba people. We honor our land and our heritage.
